I am now officially a viva survivor. It was quite nice to be told as I went in that they were going to give me a PhD, although as I struggled through an explanation of subtropical gyres I did wonder if they'd change their minds. Apart from that, it went quite well, and I don't really know where the 2 hours and 45 minutes went. All in all, a good day, and a huge relief to have it over and done with (barring the few minor corrections, of course).
